Wild Wolf loves dogs!

Wild Wolf Brewing Company has always taken pride in being dog friendly. We love to see you with your four-legged friends out front enjoying our Biergarten.
We wanted to do something to make those wagging tails even happier, so we decided to make dog treats!
Our baker, Higgins, and owner, Mary decided that we would make dog treats the Wild Wolf way, where natural, wholesome ingredients combine with an eco-friendly attitude.
The brewing process creates a great deal of Spent Grain, which is coarsely chopped barley that has had sugars soaked out of it. Spent grain is high in vegetable protein and fiber.
Higgins started developing recipes with our Executive Chef Chris Jack and our resident dog expert, Brewmaster Danny. Once they agreed on a dog-friendly recipe, and Danny’s dogs had tasted and approved, we had developed a great treat that all dogs can enjoy!
When it came time to pick a name for them, we looked to Luna, one of Danny’s canine friends. Lady Luna’s Brewers Biscuits are healthy and dogs love them. You can find them in our Gift Shop, and also at the host area at the front of the restaurant.

Being Green at Wild Wolf Brewing Co.

Yeah, we know that brewers can be an unusual bunch. Many of them tend to layer up in lots of Carhartt and facial hair (that’s actually pretty normal for the industry), but what sort of Brewmaster keeps an incubator in his office? Or mushroom logs out back? Welcome to Wild Wolf Brewing Company!
Danny Wolf, Brewmaster at Wild Wolf Brewing Co, is serious about sustainability, being green, and having fun in the great outdoors. When he’s not busy in the brewhouse, he’s working on any number of interesting projects, often blurring the line between work and recreation. Since we all prefer fun to working, we’ll focus on some of Danny’s “occupational hobbies” right now.
Danny cares for all of the chickens and ducks on the property. The poultry at Wild Wolf keeps pests out of our hopyard (fantastic Cascade hops are grown right here on-site; you’ll find them in our Primal Instinct IPA). The fowl also naturally fertilize the hopyard for us, and we’re delighted to tell you that our hops are chemical-free.  The rare and heirloom chickens that Danny’s collected and bred over the years produce a rainbow of wholesome eggs. The poultry at Wild Wolf eat a diet of spent grain, local apple pomace, vegetable scraps from our kitchen, and organic chicken feed. The hopyard flock is right out front; be sure to say hello to them the next time you stop by.
Danny also maintains several lush raised-bed gardens behind the brewery, and is happy to provide fresh herbs (and more) for the delicious cuisine served in our restaurant. Of course, wherever you find a gardener focused on sustainability and common sense, you’ll find a significant composting project. Danny is always on the lookout for “volunteers” for the compost piles- most of them come from the lawn, trees, and chickens here at the brewery.
Oh, those mushroom logs? They’re locally sourced “waste” trees that would have been cut down anyway – meaning that they weren’t especially harvested for this purpose. They grow shitake and oyster mushrooms. Danny plans to ramp up production in the spring, and he can’t wait!
Stay tuned later this month for information about how Danny and his team make the beers and brewing process at Wild Wolf Brewing Company environmentally friendly.
